MTV Movie Awards, Go Flawless, Pampering Suites etc

Getting in the Mood for the MTV Movie Awards–Suites!

It would not be an awards show weekend in LA (back to back with Spike’s Guys Choice and then the MTV Movie Awards) without the requisite number of gifting and pampering suites going on around town. About half-dozen private events sprung up and per usual, suitemistresses Kari Feinstein and Melanie Segal produced some of the best.
Feinstein’s Style Lounge for the MTV Movie Awards took over a floor of a hotel  in Hollywood for its two-day awards swagfest. Among those making the rounds: Maria Menounos, who was signing her new book , “The Every Girl’s Guide to Life,” Jessica Lowndes, Malin Akerman and Guiliana Rancic.
No surprise, there was an emphasis on beauty as several top skincare companies, including Suki Cosmetics, Dr. Murad and its new lower-cost Clean Scene and the new (cheaper) Dr. Lewinn by Kinerase distributed their products to celebs and other VIP guests.
Some of the other goodies they got included Vintage Havana clothing, Essie nail polish in hot new summer colors, Usana natural sleep products and supplements, rings and watches from SillyBandz, Visine’s new summer eye drops that soothe peepers from sun, sand, wind, and chlorine and colorful bags and cases made of washable neoprene from OC-based Beach Handbags.
Those hungry for snacks could have their fill of crunchies from Popcorn Indiana and Sensible Portions, which makes everything from “healthy” potato sticks to apple crisps.
Over in Beverly Hills, proceeds from the the Platinum Publicity Lounge for the MTV Movie Awards benefited the Red Cross and its “Prepare LA” PSA campaign, which informs Angelenos what they must do to prepare for disaster. The PSA was being shot on location on a hotel rooftop.
The guest list included Mario Lopez, Mischa Barton, Laila Ali, Nancy O’Dell  and  Daisy Fuentes. They received some of the latest in electronics, watches, jeans and accessories.
Among the event’s vendors were Ed Hardy with its new muted clothing for men and women, trendy chain and crystal jewelry from Sorrelli, DDF’s new eye firming concentrate, Lisa Berck leather cross body bags, Police sunglasses, Makeup Mandy, Unique Vintage clothing and accessories that hark back to the 1950s and Chocolate leather goods and handbags.
Sweet tooths were satisfied by yummy Paciugo gelato – plus pastries, cookies and macarons from Friandise Pastries and the full array of Coca-Cola products in those cute little aluminum bottles.

Inside another Beverly Hills hotel, it was beauty to go as Style Bar Beverly Hills and GoFlawless Mobile Beauty set up shop with a full range of services including hairstyling, manicures, facials, laser treatments, and even Botox and fillers.
The suite at the Montage Hotel was decorated with flowers, filled with delicious snacks and buzzing with guests lining up to get beautified.
No need to wait for glam lashes, as the technicians from The Lash Factory took them to the lengthiest limit. After the treatment, one guest was even heard “complaining” that her lashes were too long—a good problem to have.
American Laser Skin Care was there with micro-dermabrasion and glycolic peels. And who could resist the vibrating deep tissue massage machine from Modus Therapy.
Treats from Scrumbtious Cakes and Pastries, Sissy’s Whoopie Pies and Big Man Bakes Cupcakes left everyone’s sweet tooth fulfilled, and were almost as pretty as the guests as they left.
Because being beautiful is the best accessory, especially on an awards show weekend.
